The State of Qatar has reiterated its commitment to calling for a comprehensive approach to preventing violent extremism in Somalia and other hot spots in the world, by being guided by innovative methods and by relying on modern technology.

The State of Qatar participated in a virtual preparatory regional meeting for the 2023 conference to review the progress on the 2018-2028 as an International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development", which was held by Singapore's Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment. The meeting was chaired by Singapore's Minister of sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikstan Sirojiddin Muhriddin.

The State of Qatar reiterated its commitment to continuing humanitarian support in alleviating the suffering of people and to move forward with implementing the Sustainable Development Goals 2030.

The State of Qatar stressed that it attributes a high priority to education in the Qatar National Vision 2030, focused on providing high-quality education to everyone that respects diversity while celebrating national traditions and religious values, along with providing the opportunity for different communities to pursue the education adopted in their own countries, so that they can maintain their identity.

​HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani received a phone call from HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Haneef Atmar.

HE Head of the State of Qatar's Mission to NATO Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi and HE Head of the International Military Cooperation Authority Brigadier General Abdulaziz Saleh Al Sulaiti inaugurated on Tuesday the offices of the State of Qatar's mission and military representation, inside NATO headquarters in Brussels, in implementation of the arrangements for the Individual Partnership and Cooperation Program.

​HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the Arab League Ambassador Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al Sahlawi chaired the Arab side in the 17th session of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF), which kicked off Tuesday via videoconferencing, at the level of ranking officials, while the Chinese side was chaired by Director-General of the Department of West Asian and North African Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Wang Di.

The State of Qatar valued the ability of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) to adapt to the international challenges that accompanied the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, and expressed hope that OHCHR would continue to benefit from the lessons of responding to this pandemic in developing its future plan and enhancing its ability to accomplish its tasks.

​His Highness The Amir delivered the opening address at the Qatar Economic Forum Powered by Bloomberg under the patronage of His Highness this evening under the theme “New Perspectives for Tomorrow”.

​The State of Qatar underlined that the COVID-19 pandemic poses an unprecedented threat to countries and societies, and its repercussions, especially the economic and social, will affect the progress made towards achieving the sustainable development goals and the protection and promotion of human rights.
