His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received on Monday morning, at Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Majlis at the Amiri Diwan, HE Governor General of Canada Mary Simon and the accompanying delegation on the occasion of her visit to the country.

HE Governor General of Canada Mary Simon arrived in Doha on Sunday, on a visit to the country. HE the Governor General and the accompanying delegation were welcomed upon arrival at Doha International Airport by HE the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Canada Khalid bin Rashid Al Mansouri and HE Ambassador of Canada to Qatar Stefanie McCollum.

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada received, through video conference technology, the credentials of His Excellency Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Canada Khalid bin Rashid Al-Mansouri.

​His Excellency Ambassador Khalid bin Rashid Al-Mansouri participated in the first annual meeting, for the year 2022, of the group of Francophone ambassadors accredited to Canada.

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani held a phone call with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada Melanie Joly.

The State of Qatar participated in the United Nations Ministerial Meeting on Peacekeeping, held in Seoul, the Republic of Korea. HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi headed Qatar's delegation to the meeting.
