Qatar Reiterates Importance of the Principle of Jurisdiction

The State of Qatar reiterated that the principle of jurisdiction constitutes one of the basic tools to ensure the prevention and suppression of serious violations of international humanitarian law and the criminalization of perpetrators, expressing its interest in the issue of universal jurisdiction and its applications, based on its conviction that impunity is the main factor in the increasing incidence of mass atrocities in the world, which is rejected by the human conscience because it violates legal instruments and human values.



Qatar Reiterates That International Law, International Legitimacy are Basis for Permanent Settlement of Middle East

The State of Qatar reiterated that a permanent, comprehensive, and just settlement of the Middle East issue will only be achieved on the basis of international law, international legitimacy resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative, leading to ending the occupation of all occupied Arab lands, including the Syrian Golan and the occupied Lebanese territories, ending settlements, a just solution to the issue refugees, and the Palestinians enjoy their inalienable rights, especially their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the vision of the two-state solution.
