Qatar Coordinates Negotiations to Adopt UN Resolution on Education for Sustainable Development

The Economic and Financial Committee (Second Committee), of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, adopted a resolution that the State of Qatar and Tajikistan contributed to coordinating negotiations on its provisions, reiterating that Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is a vital means of implementation necessary to achieve sustainable development; an integral part of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) is related to quality education and a key enabler of all other goals.





Appointment of Permanent Representatives of Qatar, Denmark to Facilitate UN Security Council Reform Negotiations

HE President of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly Abdulla Shahid appointed HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the UN Ambassador Sheikha Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani and HE Permanent Representative of Denmark Ambassador Bille Hermann to lead the facilitation of informal negotiations on the reform of the UN Security Council in accordance with General Assembly resolutions calling for reform of the Council in terms of equitable representation, increase in the number of its members and other matters.



Qatar, the US Sign Agreements During the 4th Strategic Dialogue Between the Two Countries

The governments of the State of Qatar and the United States of America signed an arrangement to protect the interests of the United States of America in Afghanistan, a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the temporary hosting of individuals at risk due to the situation in Afghanistan, and an agreement on the exchange of information related to travel visas.



4th U.S.-Qatar Strategic Dialogue to Begin in Washington Friday

The Fourth Annual US-Qatar Strategic Dialogue will begin in Washington on Friday in its fourth session, chaired by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and HE US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
