His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of the Sultanate of Oman held today an official talks session at the Amiri Diwan.

At the outset of the meeting, HH The Amir welcomed HM the Sultan and the accompanying delegation, wishing His Majesty a good stay and for the brotherly relations between the two countries further growth and development in all fields, expressing hope that this visit contributes to strengthening brotherly ties to realize the ambitions and interests of the two peoples.

For his part, His Majesty expressed his thanks to HH The Amir for the good reception and generous hospitality. His Majesty added that he looks forward to enhancing bonds and cooperation relations to realize joint aspirations and advance the interests of the two countries and peoples.

The session dealt with reviewing relations between the two countries and the means to enhance them, particularly in the political, economic, investment, tourism, and transport fields. The session also dealt with exchanging views on enhancing joint GCC work to enhance the region's stability and security.

The meeting was attended by HH The Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, HH the Personal Representative of HH The Amir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, and a number of Their Excellencies the ministers.

On the Omani side, it was attended by HH Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs Shihab bin Tarek Al Said, and Their Excellencies members of the official accompanying delegation.

HH The Amir and HM the Sultan also held a bilateral meeting to exchange views on a number of regional and international issues as well as the latest developments.

HM the Sultan arrived at the Amiri Diwan earlier today, were His Majesty was accorded an official reception ceremony.

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani led the well-wishers to welcome HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of the sisterly Sultanate of Oman upon his arrival this Monday and the accompanying delegation at Doha International Airport on a two-day state visit to the country.

HH The Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, HH Personal Representative of HH The Amir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs and Ministers were also present to welcome HM Sultan of Oman. Also on hand to welcome HM Sultan of Oman were HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Sultanate of Oman Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Thani and HE Ambassador of Oman to the State Najib bin Yahya Al Balushi.
