Ambassador Saoud Al-Mahmoud participated with representatives from Francophone countries, and the presence of Minister Marc Garneau, in a virtual event organized by Global Affairs Canada to mark the International Day of La Francophonie.

The virtual meeting discussed a number of topics related to the Francophonie, among them the 18th Francophonie Summit to be held in November 2021 in Tunisia’s Djerba.

The participants welcomed the launching of the new all-digital channel TV5 MONDE-plus initiated to promote the use of the French language all over the world.
