The Embassy of the State of Qatar held “The Road to the World Cup” event, with wide participation from senior Canadian Government officials, Honourable Members of Parliament, representatives of Canadian soccer and sport associations and the civil society, and diplomatic corps accredited to Canada.

Qatar’s Ambassador Dr. Khalid bin Rashid Al-Mansouri welcomed in his opening statement the gathering and thanked them for taking part in this celebration, which reflects their keen interest in the upcoming Mundial and Canada’s qualification to it after 36 years.

His Excellency also spoke about the great achievements and preparations undertaken by the State of Qatar, since it was awarded 12 years ago the honor of hosting this championship for the first time in the Arab World.
